Thanks for taking the time to access our website. I want to share a little more about myself and my journey that led me to the decision to run for Colorado House District 59.
I would also like to introduce my best friend, bride and chief political consultant, Sharon Craig. Sharon and I have been married for 32 years. In the past 7 we’ve both served in various elected and appointed positions which have positioned us to take this adventure on together. We have 3 amazing children that are grown upstanding members of their communities.

I grew up North of Durango in the Animas Valley. Waterfall Ranch was my backyard. I went through Durango Public Schools and graduated from DHS. Attended a few years at Fort Lewis until I needed to get out and “find myself”. A year or so later I was in Tahlequah, OK. Home of the Cherokee Nation and Northeastern State University where I received my BS in Mathematics with minors in Computer Science and Music. Through this adventure I had the opportunity to discover my family’s Cherokee roots. A few months later I was back here in La Plata County where I met my wife.

We were married at a beautiful front yard on Florida Mesa. I was working for Kirby Millworks in what is now Durango Harley Davidson. Several months later, we were in Farmington, NM starting a career in the Oil & Gas sector. Little did I know that we would move 5 times over 20 years to Fort Worth, Farmington, Calgary AB, Fort Worth and then later to Tulsa. With each of these locations came different experiences. Different communities with different values.

We purchased Meadow Brook Mobile Home Park and other assets to continue the family business started by my parents Carl & Teri Craig years ago. And for many of you, that’s where our paths crossed. We became very involved in the Ignacio Chamber, La Plata Economic Alliance and other groups promoting economic growth and development here in the surrounding areas. As well we found our church home at the Vallecito Church where we are involved in several community service activities.

I served 4 years on the Town of Ignacio Planning Commission and currently serve on the La Plata County Planning Commission. In 2022 was elected Mayor of Ignacio.
So, what do I bring to the table? I feel everyone needs a voice, needs representation. Not just the people we like, the people we get along with, but all people. We need to protect our children and our families … As a State we believe we can do better. We need to once and for all fix our education funding. Not pass taxes to help fill the gap or promise reduction when in fact it’s an increase to make up the differences. We need to look after our elders, veterans and those who have given their life to service. We need to figure out how people that want to work here, live here, understand the cost of freedom, …. can stay in our district, and in our communities.
